Diabetes Education Services are based on the American Diabetes Association’s national standards and capitalize on the experience of certified diabetes educators who provide you the tools, skills and information needed to keep your diabetes in check. The staff works with you and your physician to develop an individualized care plan. Here are two of the many resources available at the Diabetes Center. Diabetes Self-Management Training - This class assists newly diagnosed patients or those experiencing difficulty managing Type 1 or 2 diabetes. Carbohydrate Counting - Led by a registered dietitian, the class meets weekly for two hours and benefits individuals controlling diabetes with diet or intensive insulin management. (more) |
